After the annexation of Western-Ukrainian lands to Soviet Ukraine, as in the post-war period, the development of the traditions of the popular song of Galicia undergoes a certain mimicry. In the difficult unfavorable ideological conditions, artists, formed by high professionalism, elite cultural inquiries of the intellectual environment of the first half of the XX century, continue the pre-formed line in entertaining songwriting in the new original works and the text versions of modern times. Analyzing the peculiarities of the popular pop song of the post-war decades in the Western Ukraine, we are observing social tendencies which bring to creation of cultural opposition to ideological oppression, interference of authorities in the sphere of personal freedom, information and artistic isolation, caused by the conditions of the Iron Curtain. The popular musical art becomes one of the tools of social resistance as the most massive social sphere sections.uk_UA
