Abstract: | This article explores the identity of artistic works by the German-language writer from Galicia, Joseph Roth (1894—1939). In his works, the world of the Jewish small towns (shtetls) of Eastern Europe and the fate of the Jewish people are reflected. The article analyzes the dichotomy of the Fatherland — Foreign Land, and various literary elements of the Habsburg Myth, as well as the context of historical time, features of traditions and the dialog of people in Austrian-Hungarian Empire. |
