Abstract

Life and transformation in Stanislavov in the period of World War I. In this article the author analyzed changes and transformations which happened in the lives of residents of Stanislavov (today it’s a town called Ivano-Frankivsk) in the conditions of World War I. In the author’s opinion, citizens of this town faced difficult circumstances of military time, discriminative limitations, destruction of buildings and infrastructure, however, they were still trying to preserve their everyday life, occupation and even were restoring the town. The author of the article emphasizes that the actions of Russian troops and repressive politics of occupation administration concerned Ukrainian intelligentsia, the greek catholic church, national minorities, the russification of education marginalized any Moscowphile sympathies among the town’s residents
